Reflexive Pronouns[redaktə | mənbəni redaktə et]

In Dutch, reflexive pronouns are used when the subject and object of a sentence refer to the same person or thing. Reflexive pronouns are formed by adding "-zich" to the personal pronoun.

For example:

Dutch Pronunciation North Azerbaijani
Ik was me. /ɪk wɑs mə/ Məni yuyuram.
Jij wast je. /jɛi wɑst jə/ Səni yuyursan.
Hij wast zich. /hɛi wɑst zɪç/ Özünü yuyur.
Wij wassen ons. /wɛi wɑsən ɔns/ Özümüzü yuyuruq.
Jullie wassen je. /ˈjʏ.li ˈwɑ.sən jə/ Özünüzü yuyursuz.
Zij wassen zich. /zɛi ˈwɑ.sən zɪç/ Özlərini yuyurlar.

As you can see from the examples above, reflexive pronouns are formed by adding the suffix "-zich" to the personal pronoun that matches the subject of the sentence. Note that the reflexive pronoun "zich" is used for both singular and plural subjects.

Possessive Pronouns[redaktə | mənbəni redaktə et]

Possessive pronouns are used to indicate possession or ownership. In Dutch, possessive pronouns are formed by adding "-n" to the stem of the corresponding possessive adjective.

For example:

Dutch Pronunciation North Azerbaijani
Mijn boek. /mɛin buk/ Mənim kitabım.
Jouw boek. /jau buk/ Sənin kitabın.
Zijn boek. /zɛin buk/ Onun kitabı.
Haar boek. /har buk/ Onun kitabı (qadın).
Ons boek. /ɔns buk/ Bizim kitabımız.
Jullie boek. /ˈjʏ.li buk/ Sizin kitabınız.
Hun boek. /hʏn buk/ Onların kitabı.

As you can see from the examples above, the possessive pronouns "mijn", "jouw", "zijn", "haar", "ons", "jullie", and "hun" are formed by adding the suffix "-n" to the stem of the corresponding possessive adjective.
